Xiaomi is reported to be working on a foldable phone that opens and closes like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and the new Motorola Razor. This Xiaomi phone will reportedly come with a clamshell-like foldable phone design, and the Chinese giant has reportedly placed an order with the Samsung display with a foldable display similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. The company has also reported the source of the foldable OLED display from LG Display.

ZDNet Korea reports that Xiaomi has placed an order with Samsung Display for a foldable OLED display and is said to be sourcing some displays from LG Display as well. The OLED display for the upcoming Xiaomi foldable phone is reported to be supplied in the second half of 2020, so don’t expect the phone to be launched soon.

In December, Xiaomi filed a patent for its foldable phone and the sketch suggested clamshell designs such as the Galaxy Z Flip. In these sketches, the Xiaomi phone appears to be completely folded in half to give it a traditional flip phone look.
