WhatsApp now shows large media previews in chat. A new update improves the performance of the sent media so that you can see a larger image and video preview. The feature was introduced to iOS users last month and now all users are receiving it, regardless of which platform they are on. This gives a better view of all the content shared in the chat, so as not to leave out important details due to cropping. Large media previews let you open unshared images or videos to scroll through chat.
The instant messaging app took to Twitter to announce the rollout of the big media preview on WhatsApp. The tweet reads, “Photos and videos in WhatsApp have become even bigger, so no one will leave a picture!” This is the right reason to smile “. There is a video attached to the tweet showing how the sent media now performs a larger preview than before. The photo preview seems much larger than the smaller, square-shaped preview seen in the previous version of the app. This tweet does not present details on the platforms for which the feature is being rolled out, indicating that it has been enabled on all platforms that are available on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp for iOS users started getting this feature with version 2.21.71. It should also be rolled out on other platforms, and Android users can update the app to the latest version and try to send any media to see the changes.
