Whatsapp payments, first introduced last year in India now rolling out to other countries, Mexico, Brazil and UK. Company’s CEO Mark Zukerberg had indicated at the expansion of WhatsApp payments to more markets during the fourth quarter earning call.
According to WABetaInfo, Whatsapp Payments will soon launch in Three more countries Brazil, Mexico and UK. The tipster didn’t revealed any other information about, that when this service will go live on these countries.
As for India, Whatsapp payments using UPI service in India to enable payment, that is an Indian-exclusive service, that can not be used in other countries. So the Whatsapp Payments will be similar to Samsung pay and Apple pay in other countries, in which the payment will be routed through Credit or Debit card.
