WhatsApp Latest Update to bring Splash Screen & Dark mode to iPhone users

Facebook-owned WhatsApp is testing a new beta update for iOS users. This upcoming update will bring features like hidden mute status update, splash screen and app badge improvements among others. WhatsApp update information shared by WABetaInfo.

WhatsApp’s new splash screen essentially lets users see the WhatsApp logo whenever they open the app on their iPhones. Interestingly, this feature has also recently rolled out on Android Beta app. Dark mode is one of the most awaited features, and it seems close to a launch. The beta app shows how text bubbles will look in dark mode.

The app also improves badge notifications on the iPhone app. Post updates, the app will no longer raise the app badge when muted chat messages arrive. Finally, another new feature will be the ability to hide roll out mute status updates. Previously, the silent status update would appear at the bottom of the list. But with this update, the muted status will disappear completely from the update screen. Users can revive them from the muted updates tab.

WABBInInfo reported, “I always recommend backing up your chat history before updating to the new beta: if there’s something wrong, your messages are safe and you can upgrade to an earlier version from TestFlight or the App Store, ” Friday.

It was first available on the beta version for Android. It is expected that the company will soon introduce Dark Mode to users globally.
