WhatsApp Dark Mode Gets Additional Solid Colour Options on Android

WhatsApp Beta for Android has got a new version which brings additional ‘Solid Color’ option for Dark Theme. Solid color options on instant messaging are to let users change the default light-color background pattern with some solid colors of their preferences. The new beta update version is 2.20.80 and is available for download through the Google Play beta program. WhatsApp originally brought version 2.20.31 in January, which added six solid color options for users on the Dark theme. Since beta versions are designed for testing purposes only, it is recommended to consider downloading the latest update only to experience the changes. However you may experience some bug while using the updated WhatsApp.

While the January update of the WhatsApp beta for Android brought the initial six solid color options, the new update brings the number to 27. This means that you will get a range of additional ‘Solid Color’ options that you can apply when using the Dark Theme. .

In particular, WhatsApp for Android, which is available to the general public, has a total of 27 solid color options, but offers a dark theme to those currently limited to beta versions.

To experience the new range of solid color options on your device, you will need to download the WhatsApp beta version 2.20.60. You can register for the Google Play beta program and then install the latest update directly from the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you can sideload the app from APK Mirror.

Once you download the update, you can see the solid color options available from your WhatsApp by going to Settings> Chat> Wallpaper> Solid Color.
