Vivo has sent media invites for the launch event on 9 December. The invite teaser features a smartphone with a punch-hole selfie camera. In fact, the invitation only talks about the V-series launch.
Vivo V17 features leaked
According to our sources, the Vivo V17 will have a quad-camera setup at the back. This corresponds to the international version. This diamond-shaped module will have a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 primary sensor. In addition, the setup also includes an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The last two have 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensor. Unlike the international version, the Indian Vivo V17 variant will reportedly have a punch-hole design. This hole will have an embedded 32-megapixel sensor.
We have further learned a camera mode that will be the first of its kind on any smartphone. Recently, most smartphones have been offering night mode to help shoot photos in low light conditions. The Vivo V17 will feature Super Night Mode on both the rear and front cameras. In other words, you will not only be able to shoot low light photos from the rear cameras, but will also be able to take good-looking selfies in low light.
The V17 is likely to come with the same set of specifications and features as the international version to launch in India. So, you will get a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD + resolution. Under the hood will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Make sure everything ticks will have a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging support. It will use a USB Type-C port. For security, the front will have an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the software front, it will run Android 9 Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.2.
Expected Price in India
The smartphone was recently launched in Russia with a price of 22,990 rubles. This roughly translates to 25,800 rupees in India. It remains to be seen whether Vivo can be aggressive with pricing. There are likely to be two color variants – Cloud Blue and Blue Fog.
