To make the MAadhaar application more secure, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched its new version, which is for both Android and iOS devices. According to UIDAI, users should remove the previous version and install the new version immediately. Also, third-party applications are not supported by UIDAI.
Users can download Aadhaar card, show offline EKYC or scan QR code, reprint, update address, verify Aadhaar, verify mail / email, retrieve UID / EID , Can request for address verification letter and also check the status of various online requests.
The multilingual app supports 13 languages including English and 12 Indian languages - Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Urdu, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi and Assamese.
Through the MAadhaar app, residents can also lock or unlock their Aadhaar or biometric authentication.
To avail the individual Aadhaar services, the user has to register the Aadhaar profile in the mAadhaar app. But a resident with or without Aadhaar can install the app in their smartphone. To use the MAadhaar app, users have to register their phone number with UIDAI. After the process is complete, the Aadhaar card details can be downloaded on the app, which will store data such as name, date of birth, gender, address and photograph on its phone.
