Two months ago, Spotify has launched in India and committed to localizing the app so that more and more people can listen to music, and now Spotify has bring a lighter version of the app in India, which is built for specially for low-end Android smartphones. After successful test in markets including Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Mexico and Brazil, the 10MB lighter size app that has similar look and feel to the original app is now available in beta for users in India.
Users can download the new Spotify Lite Beta version from Google play store, they can use both app, the lite version and the main Spotify app.
“Our ambition is to be available on all platforms that make sense to our users, and make the music streaming experience as seamless as possible,” Batra added.
According to the reports, Spotify has 207 million active users and 96 million users are spotify premium subscribers, and the Spotify adds apx. 30,000 new tracks every day, and is available on over 500 products across 200 hardware brands globally.
