The new black navigation bar at the bottom of the screen on Snapchat will link to the Snap Map, Chat, Camera, Community and Discover sections. Currently, Snapchat is divided into three main categories, but the company may be looking to expand these to five.

Snap Map may eventually receive its own dedicated section. Until now, Snapchat users have to swipe down on the main camera section to see it. It is also almost impossible to access from anywhere else in the app. A new section called Community, which looks like the current Discover screen, connects to recommendations and people you follow.

Snapchat’s reported redesign can make the app easier for newbies. One problem with Snapchat was that new users had a difficult time making sense of the app. Small changes to the design helped users, but it was said that things could come to a whole new level in the new design for newly designed Snapchat users. Snap is also looking to add a new news section to Snapchat. Titled ‘Currying Now’, this segment will provide news headlines curated from Snap’s select set of partners.
