Tech giant Samsung, officially introduced a 1 Terabyte embedded Universal flash Storage for smartphones. It can be embedded in Samsung’s upcoming smartphone Galaxy S10, which will be revealed in upcoming months. The new 1TB eUFS is 11.5mm x 13.0mm in size like previous 512GB version. It made of 16 stacked layers of Samsung’s 512 gigabit V-NAND flash memory and a new proprietary controller.
“The 1TB eUFS is expected to play a critical role in bringing a more notebook-like user experience to the next generation of mobile devices,” said Cheol Choi, executive vice president of Memory Sales & Marketing at Samsung Electronics in the release.
As it’s a large data storage eUFS, so for now it will only be available for higher-end smartphones, and possibly you wouldn’t see it in mid-range smartphones for a couple years.
