Redmi Note 8 has started getting its MIUI 11 update in India as per user report. which brings a host of new features, the underlying version of Android remains unchanged as Android 9 Pie according to the shared changelog. Xiaomi is also said to follow a staged update pattern as the update has made its way onto some Redmi Note 8 units. Once the worms are ironed, we can expect a much wider rollout. Redmi Note 8 users will receive a notification with details about the software update.
The latest software update for the Redmi Note 8 75 8,975 is MIUI 11.0.1.PCOINXM version number and is said to have a size of approximately 664MB and some users have reported receiving updates. One of the shared changelings explicitly mentions that the MIUI 11 update is based on Android Pie, not Android 10 as some users were expecting.
A Mi Community Forum moderator has also mentioned that a partial rollout for the Redmi Note 8 has been initiated and will be pushed to the public if it is found to be sufficiently stable. In another post last week, a super moderator shared the download link for the recovery ROM.
