OnePlus has developed a 120Hz display technology that will be detailed at the Pet OnePlus 2020 Screen Technology Communication Meeting ‘today, CEO Pete Lau revealed via a post on Weibo. The new technology is likely to give a better experience than what we got on the 90Hz fluid display recently displayed on OnePlus phones. OnePlus last year brought the OnePlus 7 Pro as its first smartphone with a 90 Hz display. The Shenzhen-based company expanded that move and launched the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro with the same 90Hz display, which it calls the Fluid Display.

Traditionally, smartphones come with a display panel supporting a 60 Hz refresh rate. A 120 Hz panel, compared to a 60 Hz panel, produces smoother pictures, which update images on a 60 Hz screen 120 times more often at a rate of 60 seconds a second.
