HMD Global is releasing a new software update for its Nokia 1 users. The latest update brings the month-old January 2020 security patch for the device. According to the changelog, the update does not come with any additional improvements.
Nokia 1 is based on Android 9 Pie Go version OS dated with latest update software build version PPR1.180610.011. The OTA update is about 72.1 MB in size and brings security enhancements to the device, the NPU reports.
Nokia 1 latest software update is currently available for download only in Sri Lanka. So, it will reach a lesser number of devices in only a few weeks. Once Nokia has confirmed that there are no hidden bugs, global roll-out availability for other units will begin for all units. Users can use VPN trick to get faster updates. However, it is better to wait for an official rollout for any regional improvements and improvements.
The Nokia 1 OTA update is running in a phased process, so it may take some time before slowly reaching everyone. Users will receive a push notification to download the firmware. Alternatively, the update can also be viewed by going to Settings -> Software Update menu.
