Motorola India has sent an invitation for a press event on 16 September in the country, where the company will launch a new smartphone in partnership with Flipkart. The upcoming phone is Moto E6S. Although Motorola’s invitation did not mention the Moto E6S, Flipkart has set up a teaser page where the e-retailer has teased the beans. Looking at the teaser page on Flipkart as well as the Motorola invitation, the e-retailer is confirmed to be carrying the smartphone in the country. The Moto E6S feels like a rebranded variant of the Moto E6 Plus smartphone that debuted at the IFA 2019 Tech Fair last week.
Motorola said that the new smartphone will be unveiled on September 16 at 12 noon (noon). No other details are mentioned; However, the key specifications on Flipkart’s teaser page very much confirm that the Moto E6S is the 4GB RAM variant of the Moto E6 Plus smartphone. Motorola talked about the 2GB and 4GB RAM variants during the IFA, but it is unclear why the company wants to rebrand it for the Indian market. One reason may be a potential trademark conflict.
The Moto E6S is expected to have the same set of specifications with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage as well as a microSD card slot. The teaser page of Flipkart already mentions many of the above specifications.
The price of the Moto E6S is a mystery at the moment, though it is likely to be priced aggressively. To recall, the price of the Moto E6 Plus is set to start in Latin America at EUR 139 and we can expect a similar price for the Moto E6S in India.
