Huawei has announced that users with Huawei devices in India whose warranty expires between March 21 and June 21 will now get an extended warranty period from June 30. This includes devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, headsets, chargers, and more. A similar announcement was also made on Thursday by Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor, for all Honor phones, wearables, headsets and accessories.
Honor has extended the warranty period to the end of June for devices whose warranty expires from March 21 to June 21.
The announcement by the companies came at a time when India is struggling with the novel coronavirus epidemic. The Indian government recently announced a nationwide lockout by 14 April, where miscellaneous services were declared closed.
Huawei also reportedly stated that due to the lockdown on the epidemic, Huawei service centers across the country were temporarily closed until further notice, as might be expected.
