Honor removed the covers from two new 5G phones – Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro earlier this week. But it appears that Honor has big plans for 5G and plans to bring its entire smartphone portfolio under the ambit of 5G-enabled devices. Honor’s president, George Zhao, recently revealed that upcoming phones in Honor’s V-series, X-series and Play-series will support 5G connectivity. The company also plans to launch 5G phones that also fall under the rest of the lineup, but 5-G hugs will not be liked by everyone if it comes to low-end phones.
Responding to the media after the launch of the Honor V30 series, Zhao stated that the company’s plans are to launch 5G phones under the Honor V-series, X-series and Play-series. He also reportedly mentioned that 5G phones will also be part of other lineups. However, Honor Executive made it clear that the company will not abandon 4G altogether and will continue to launch 4G phones, including the new 5G phones in its portfolio.
When asked if the company plans to launch a budget phone with 5G support, he said that at the moment, Honor is focused on giving the best 5G experience with its phone without affecting the quality. . He further said that Honor does not want to launch a 5G phone just for this, and strives to provide a good experience for all.
The Honorable President emphasized the idea that 5G is not just about speed. Zhao also cited the nascent stage of 5G technology and the lack of price that 5G phones could cost around Rs 1,000 (about Rs 10,000) and CNY 1,500 (around Rs 15,000) at the moment. However, he did not completely rule out that possibility and hinted that the budget 5G phone could be launched when the opportunity is ripe.
