With the aim of providing better control over what other users see when they look at your page, Google Maps has released an update that lets you control your profile picture and your bio, media Has told The search engine giant, till date, did not allow users to manage their public profiles from the app.
With the new My Profile tab, you have more control over how other people view your contribution to Maps, with Android Police pointing to a new Google Support page on Saturday. “Google is rolling out the ability to edit and manage your public profile from Maps. Previously, you could all check on your local guide points if you were part of the program, but you could add your name or bio Could not edit. Users could, until now, essentially choose their “Own Contribution” option in the side bar of the app to pull in information from their local guides, assuming they had participated and then “public profile” from the triple-dot menu View “option. It only displays their name, profile picture and their reviews and ratings.
The new profile page is rolling out server-side for Maps users, but doesn’t hurt to see it on the latest version (v10.29.1 APK Mirror). The report states that we are also expecting a change in the Contribution tab that completely supersedes the old interface in favor of the new interface which has been in beta for several months.
