Aimed at video producers and publishers, Facebook has announced some new features for its video capabilities and now publishers will have more tools to use with its Watch Party and Creator Studio tools. Facebook also announced the Instagram and IGTV scheduling feature. The company also noted that Facebook Live was now available on the Facebook Lite app as well.
The social networking giant made the announcement during a session at the International Broadcasting Conference (IBC) in Amsterdam.
For live video, the company will expand the features available on the Facebook page to encourage live broadcasting by professionals on its social networks. TechCrunch reported on Monday that it would make it easier to broadcast and test broadcasts with live APIs, which could now be restricted to that page’s team.
For page administrators, the social media giant is adding two new matrices to Creator Studio, which lets it see how many views were viewed at least 60 seconds of the party video.
In terms of live video, Facebook says it hears feedback from people who are broadcasting live on its platform, and is now rolling out several highly requested features for Facebook pages (not profiles), according to TechCrunch.
For Instagram and IGTV, Facebook says publishers and producers can now schedule Instagram feeds and IGTV content for up to six months. Drafting and editing will be possible soon, in a few more months. Ahead of the report’s announcement, Wild was seen in the feature. In particular, Instagram has allowed scheduling through third-party apps since last year, but the new original option is not limited.
