As for now Facebook main app has a messenger button that redirects us to messenger app to chat with our Facebook connected friends. But in a hint CEO Mark Zuckerberg has begun taking steps towards merging all platforms into one, It is also expected that Facebook will bring back the chat into it’s core Facebook app.

App researcher Jane Manchun Wong has spotted the feature in the works, According to a report in Engadget.

As current chat button works as a shortcut to redirect users on Messenger app, or if somebody don’t have Messenger app than, it will ask them to do it, or else user can not chat with anyone.

“Facebook’s Messenger app icon would remain but instead of launching a standalone app, it would open Facebook and take you directly to a section called Chats,” the report claimed.

In an earning call in January, Mark Zuckerberg said: “The integration that we’re thinking about, we’re really early in thinking through this. There’s a lot more we need to figure out. I think it’s the direction we should be going with more things in the future”.
