Tech giants and car making companies are experimenting with new ways to unlock cars. A few cars allow users to unlock and lock their cars by using their smartphones, such as Hyundai introduced a system that allows drivers to unlock their car using fingerprint sensors. According to reports, Apple said that they are now working on a mechanism that is based on bio-matric authentication.
Apple filed a new patent, that explains that how we can unlock the vehicle using the company’s bio-matric authentication such as FaceID. It’s closely similar to the face unlock in smartphones, The car will be unlocked by looking on the face scanner of it.
“Moreover, some conventional remote keyless entry systems are vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks and other security issues. For example, the vehicle is unable to identify the person carrying the key or key fob, so anyone with the key fob can operate the vehicle,” it added.

“We have an incredibly talented team working on autonomous systems and associated technologies at Apple. As the team focuses their work on several key areas for 2019, some groups are being moved to projects in other parts of the company where they will support Machine Learning (ML) and other initiatives, across all of Apple,” an Apple spokesperson had said.
