Ajay Sawhney, president of Empowered Group-9, said on Monday that the Arogya Setu app has been downloaded in 9.8 million smartphones so far.
Sohni said during a press briefing in New Delhi, “It will probably be available on Jio feature phones from tomorrow. We have done a lot of work on the data privacy of Arogya Setu users and ensure that the user’s data is not compromised . ”
They also reported that about 1.4 lakh Arogya Setu App users have been alerted via Bluetooth contact about the potential risk of infection due to the proximity of infected patients.
He said, “With this you will be able to protect yourself and your family.”
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India’s COVID-19 count reached 67,152 on Monday, with an increase of 4,213 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the ministry, the number of active cases in the country has risen to 44,029, while 20,916 patients have recovered properly and have taken a migration.
Separately, Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog said that the Arogya Setu mobile application is based on the “privacy-first design” principle keeping in mind the security and privacy of users’ data. He said that user data from the app would be provided only to the government officials who were directly in charge of dissemination of coronavirus in India.
